Interior lighting is the most visible use of energy within the home, which is why it is the first place most people look to upgrade and start saving. Recent national legislation has begun phasing out antiquated incandescent lighting due to it's short lifespan and it's excessive appetite for energy. This led many to switch to Compact Fluorescent Lighting (CFL). However, recent advances to Light Emitting Diode (LED) technology are in full swing and will soon become the new standard in lighting. LED technology uses only a fraction of the power of tradtional incandescents or CFLs. LEDs maintain a much cooler temperature than traditional incandescents resulting in lower air temperatures within the home, increasing cooling efficiency. The expected lifespan of LEDs is far greater as well resulting in far less replacement.
